Court sets judgement date in Rivers pharmacist’s murder  

A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has fixed January 19, 2026, for judgment in the murder trial involving four individuals linked to the killing of a pharmacist, Muenalo Sunday, in Zaakpo Community, Khana Local Government Area of the state.

The presiding judge, Justice Kingsley-Chukwu, adjourned the matter for judgment after counsel to the parties argued and adopted their final written addresses on Wednesday.

The defendants, Confidence Kirinee, popularly known as General Illa, Precious Mona, Loveday Legah and Soniabari Sagha, alongside others currently at large, are standing trial on charges bordering on the alleged kidnapping and murder of Muenalo Sunday.

The prosecution alleged that on March 5, 2019, the defendants kidnapped the victim, dismembered his body, and dumped the remains in a pit, while his severed head was allegedly taken to a shrine in a bush within a neighbouring community.
