Tsakani – EMPD Community Liaison Unit officers intercepted two suspects on Tuesday at 11:00 for dealing in illicit substances.
Members of the EMPD Specialised Services, on a sting operation in conjunction with crime intelligence, received information about a suspicious duo dealing in illegal substances from their respective residences.
Officers visited the first residence and found a 32-year-old man matching the description they received and requested to search the premises.
Upon searching, officers found 10 brown plastic wraps containing nyaope and R30 in cash.
The drugs have an estimated street value of R500.
In the same area, officers cornered a 31-year-old man with 20 brown plastic wraps of nyaope and six small plastic packets containing crystal meth with an estimated street value of R1 250 and R60 in cash.
Both men were detained at the Tsakane Police Station on charges of dealing illegal substances and will appear in court soon.
