The assailants had neutralized the inhabitants of the Malian village before proceeding to a series of looting. They ransacked a boutique and attacked a trader specializing in the sale of gold, seizing all the precious metal in his possession. The attack was carried out by a group of armed men, including a young boy, who had been shot in the head by a police officer, and was accompanied by a group of armed men. The Senegalese security forces are maintaining an increased vigilance in order to prevent any incursion of attackers on Senegalese territory.
