Two escape death in Osun multiple road crash 

Two persons have been gravely injured in a multiple road traffic accident which occurred along the Gbongan–Ife road on Friday night.

The Osun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, in a First Information Report on Sunday, revealed that the accident which involved four individuals occurred at 8:45pm after Akinlalu junction on the Gbongan–Ife route.

The report signed by the Osun FRSC Sector Commander, Leye Adegboyega and issued by the spokesperson, Agnes Ogungbemi also revealed that the crash was reported to the unit at 8:50pm, while FRSC personnel arrived at the scene at about 8:59pm.

The accident according to the report involved, “two vehicles, a white Toyota commercial bus with registration number MUS 145 FL and a grey Lexus RS 350 with registration number YAB 818 QH.”

The possible cause of the crash was attributed to route violation and speed violation.

“A total of four male adults were involved in the accident. Two of the occupants sustained injuries, while two others were reported not to be injured.

“No death was recorded in the incident,” the FRSC said.

“The injured victims were taken to Our Lady Hospital, Ipetumodu, by good Samaritans before the arrival of the FRSC rescue team.

“The two vehicles involved in the crash were later recovered and handed over to the Nigeria Police,” the statement added.

Reacting, Adegboyega, warned motorists against traffic violations.

“Motorists should desist from route violation and always drive within the speed limit allowed for both the vehicle and the road to avoid avoidable loss of lives and property,” he said.
