One killed, five abducted in fresh bandit attack in Zamfara 

Suspected bandits on Saturday night attacked Fananawa village in Bukuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing one person and abducting five residents.

 

The Zamfara State Police Command confirmed the incident, saying one person was killed, another injured and five others abducted during the attack.

 

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Yazid Abubakar, said security operatives had launched a rescue operation to recover the kidnapped victims.

 

“Our personnel are currently on a rescue mission, and very soon you will hear a success story,” Abubakar said.

 

Zamfara State remains one of the states most affected by banditry in the North West, with Bukuyum local government area frequently targeted despite sustained security operations.
