A fresh Ghanaian teacher allegedly committed suicide after being devastated by a separation with his girlfriend, whom he had economically supported, in Ashaiman. He has since said that he has taken his own life.
According to reports, the bereaved borrowed money to open a cosmetics business for his partner in an effort to secure her secure future. His love for her increased when he secured a second loan to help with her transfer to Canada, believing it may help improve their marriage and give her better opportunities.
But, before her departure, conflicts arose when she refused to hand over the keys to the cosmetic store to him.
Otherwise, she gave them to her mother, preventing him from accessing the very company he had financed. Determined to regain his expense, he attempted several days to get the store keys from the family, but all efforts proved fruitless.
Burdened by the enormous monetary debts and deception, the instructor became greatly disturbed. He made the dreadful choice to end his life because he couldn’t see past his mounting economic struggles and psychological suffering.
The tragedy has sparked a lot of discussion about the mental strain that betrayal can cause and economic sacrifices in relationships. Some people have condolenced their loved ones while urging them to get emotional and economic guidance before making difficult choices for their partners.
Officials are yet to give more information about the situation, but the horrible incident serves as a painful reminder of the need for financial patience and mental resilience in relationships.
