Ken Ofori-Atta Is Hiding in France and Has Hidden His Money in Guyana – Afia Schwar Tells OSP  

Afia Schwarzenegger has alleged that Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, is hiding in the South of France and has stashed stolen Ghanaian money in bank accounts in the South American nation of Guyana.

Schwarzenegger, in a video released following the declaration of Ofori-Atta as a fugitive from justice by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), claimed that she has all the answers the Special Prosecutor is seeking.

According to her, Ken Ofori-Atta, who was declared wanted after leaving the country to seek ‘medical help’ abroad, is hiding in the South of France. Afia claimed both him and his cousin, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, had purchased properties in France.

She also said that all the stolen ‘loot’ Ofori-Atta had taken from the coffers of Ghana where hiding in banks located in Guyana. Afia said she can provide bank account details in a few weeks if her investigations pan out.

Ken Ofori-Atta who served as Ghana’s Finance Minister from 2017 till 2024 under the NPP administration led by his cousin, was declared a fugitive by OSP Kissi Agyebeng, in a press conference held Wednesday, February 12th, 2024.

According to the OSP, Ofori-Atta is wanted in connection to several corruption scandals including the National Cathedral and the SML deals.

Agyebeng said it had become necessary to announce that Ofori-Atta was wanted after he refused to meet the OSP’s team in relation to their investigation, instead claiming through his lawyers that he was sick and hence unavailable indefinitely.
