​Gas explosion at Liberty 6 : the fighter Albarka risks two years in prison, the deliberate waiting 

  Mamadou Sow, known as Albarka Kaire Mbeur in his neighborhood, faces two years in prison for involuntary manslaughter and endangering the lives of others. He appeared on Wednesday, 12 February 2025, before the Tribunal correctionnel de Dakar to answer for the fire he caused in their appartement à liberté 6. A tragedy that claimed the lives of three members of his family in February 2024, reports Les Échos.. Les faits remontent au 7 février 2024. Returning from a training session, Mamadou Sow had borrowed a gas beak from his aunt to heat water, before falling asleep without putting it back in its place. The next morning, while he was trying to return it to his half-sister Mariama Siré Sow, a gas leak occurred in his room. Pris de panique, he fled the apartment without alerting anyone. A few moments later, an explosion occurred, resulting in the death of his half-sister Binta Sow, his 7-year-old nephew B. Kandé and his aunt Khadidiatou Sow. His other half-brother, Abdoulaye Sow, who survived with severe burns, relates the journal.
