Yuletide: Police deploy additional personnel to boost security in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has deployed additional personnel and resources across the state to ensure public safety during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The deployment, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Sadiq, is aimed at preventing crime and maintaining order during the festive period.

Sadiq said the Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu, has also ordered intensified patrols and surveillance across major roads, public places, and other strategic locations in the state.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and take responsibility for their personal safety, particularly in crowded areas. Members of the public were also encouraged to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the command’s emergency lines.

The police further advised motorists to avoid speeding and comply with traffic regulations to prevent accidents and ensure smooth movement throughout the festive season.

The command reassured residents of its commitment to maintaining peace and security across Katsina State before, during, and after the yuletide celebrations.
