‘He’s willing to help us’ – Mutfwang urges Middle Belt to back Tinubu

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has called on people from the Middle Belt to continue supporting and believing in the President Bola Tinubu-led administration, saying he is a leader willing to lend a helping hand to the region.

Speaking at a dinner for Middle Belt Ethnic Nationalities at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, Mutfwang stated, “And like I said, one of my motivations for going over to the other side (APC) is that I’ve seen in President Bola Tinubu, a man who is willing to lend a helping hand to the Middle Belt.

“I believe in the days to come, we will see evidence of what I have said.”

He added, “I believe, like I said, we have resumed our journey. I look forward to the day when there will be a convocation of the nationalities of the Middle Belt here in Jos, when we will have our traditional, our religious leaders, our intellectuals come together.

“Let’s speak with one voice that, yes, we are in northern Nigeria, but we need to make that statement, and I look forward to the day when that will become a reality.”

Mutfwang emphasised unity among Middle Belt people, saying, “It will no longer be limited by faith or tongue, we will gather together under one body, knowing that you are my brother.

“Wherever you come from, there is something that binds us together, and I pray that, from tonight, that glue that will bind us together may become stronger and stronger.”
