
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has released four telephone numbers for residents to report cases of uncleared refuse across the Federal Capital Territory, as part of efforts to tackle the growing waste management challenge in the nationās capital.
The information was contained in a press release issued on Tuesday by the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka.
According to the statement, the initiative is aimed at ensuring that waste management contractors carry out their responsibilities promptly and efficiently.
āThe FCTA has made four telephone numbers available to residents to report incidents of uncleared refuse in their areas,ā Olayinka said.
He urged members of the public to send pictures and videos of waste that has not been cleared to the designated numbers via WhatsApp, stressing the importance of providing accurate location details.
āResidents are encouraged to specify the exact locations of the refuse so that the appropriate contractors responsible for those areas can be identified and held accountable,ā he said.
The phone numbers provided for reporting are 08038643087, 07011073406, 07011255710, and 09114843425.
Olayinka said the move forms part of the FCTAās broader strategy to improve environmental sanitation and enhance accountability among waste management service providers in the FCT.
The administration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment and called on residents to actively support the initiative by promptly reporting sanitation concerns.
