Sédhiou en détresse: The hospital Amadou Tidiane Ba is on the verge of collapse, the population is suffering

Less than ten years after its inauguration, the Amadou Tidiane Ba de Sédhiou Hospital, built with a budget of 20 billion FCFA, is struggling to meet the medical needs of the population. This health centre, which was supposed to improve access to care in the region, is today faced with many difficulties. The absence of a scanner since November 2024 considerably complicates the diagnosis of diseases, forcing many patients to travel to other cities for specialized examinations. In addition, the reception and care of patients leaves much to be desired, thus aggravating the plight of populations already faced with precarious health conditions. Faced with this alarming situation, the population of Sédhiou makes an urgent appeal to the health authorities and public decision-makers to take urgent measures to improve the services of this hospital and guarantee dignified and effective access to health care.
