The situation at the Port Autonomous of Dakar (PAD) was sharply criticized during the grand rally of the central trade unions, this Friday, at the headquarters of the National Confederation of Workers of Senegal (CNTS). To date, 781 workers have been dismissed and are without employment since the announcement of the audit. Pointing the finger at the management of the Director-General of the PAD, Wally Diouf Bodian, he denounces a recruitment policy which he considers incoherent: “While agents fulfilling the conditions after several contracts à durée déterminée (CDD) await their regularisation, new recruitments en contrat à durée indéterminée (CDI) are carried out”. The trade unions call on the authorities to intervene to restore the rights of workers and guarantee a more equitable management of employment within the port.
