Kanu: ‘Enyimba’s Youth Initiative Flourishing Thanks to Hamkam Collaboration, Additional Clubs Showing Interest’

The Executive Chairman of Enyimba FC, Nwankwo Kanu, has happily announced that they are strengthening their dedication to youth development by initiating the second phase of their training program for coaches and players, in collaboration with Norway’s Hamkam Football Club, according to Completesports. According to reports, the event taking place at the venue is focused on improving grassroots football in Abia State and beyond. Kanu discussed the significance of Hamkam’s role in this collaboration and noted the advancements achieved since the partnership was established. “We finalized this partnership last year, and for Enyimba, it’s crucial that they are here rather than us just sending them video clips from Norway; we want their presence on the ground.” “They visited last year and noticed that the club is well-organized and has some structure, which made them pleased and happy,” said Kanu, a former Nigeria international and Arsenal star. Additionally, it was reported that Enyimba defeated Rivers United while Ikorodu City managed to secure a draw. When they returned, they reported on the events that took place in Aba, and the higher-ups there were satisfied with the outcome. This is why they can send them back here for a second visit. If there had been issues with security in Aba, they wouldn’t have made the trip. If I had made any mistakes and our team wasn’t competent, they wouldn’t have shown up. Overall, they view Enyimba as one of the top teams in the nation, which is why they remain loyal to the club. “Initially, when you arrive at a new location, it feels uncertain, but now that they are present, the situation has changed completely.” They feel at ease and are eager to engage in additional activities. Kanu elaborated that the program is not limited to Enyimba but will also support coaches throughout Abia State. “This initiative is aimed at ensuring we provide training for all coaches in Abia State, with Enyimba being included in this comprehensive course for all coaches in the region.”
