Super Eagles defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel has slammed Ghanaian referee Daniel Laryea, after Nigeria’s AFCON semi-final defeat to Morocco on Wednesday.
Osayi-Samuel expressed his dissatisfaction with Laryea’s officiating, describing it as appalling and filled with questionable decisions.
The match ended 4-2 on penalties after a scoreless draw.
Speaking to reporters at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, the Birmingham City player said: “One thing I would say is that the referee was appalling. I’m not saying that because we lost.
“He made some very wrong decisions. It’s really painful that we’ve referees like that to officiate big games. I wish Morocco all the best.”
Osayi-Samuel will now turns his focus to the upcoming clash against Egypt, as he aims to lead Nigeria to victory in the AFCON third-place match this weekend.
