A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday 18 February 2025 in Khouma Gallo Malick, in the commune of Richard Toll. O. Gaye, a 5-year-old boy, lost his life after being violently struck by a vehicle driven by Codé, a mechanic from the locality. Despite an emergency evacuation to Richard Toll Hospital, the young O. Gaye succumbed to his injuries. Following the tragedy, the driver was arrested by the police for the purposes of the investigation. This tragedy has plunged the local community into a frenzy, re-launching debates on road safety and the responsibility of drivers during vehicle tests in a populated area.
