Springs – Sbongile Dlamini will spend a few more nights behind bars after her bail hearing was postponed, yet again, to February 27 at the Springs Magistrate’s Court today.
A crowd of supporters for the family of slain MPD officer Banele Skosana (33) chanted ‘no bail’ outside the court.
Dlamini and her co-accused Nhliziyozabantu Magwanyana are suspected of the murder.
The court was packed with family, friends and colleagues of the late EMPD officer.
The State asked for another extension for further investigation and preparation for the bail hearing.
On Monday, the State opposed bail in the matter because it is a schedule six offence.
The State claimed that it needed more time to get Dlamini’s profile, which is necessary to make its argument.
Today, the court heard that the State was able to complete the profiling.
Dlamini was arrested on February 14, following the arrest of Magwanyana on February 10 at Kwa-Thema Hostel.
Magwanyana admitted to the crime, and through his confession, Dlamini was linked to the investigation.
Skosana was gunned down on Vilakazi Street in Kwa-Thema on the morning of February 7.
It is alleged, by witnesses, that they were helping Skosana offload stock for his tuckshop.
As he was about to leave, he was approached by two unknown men.
He was shot twice, and paramedics declared him dead at the scene.
