​Nigerian striker passes away following a devastating car accident in Uganda.    

 

Vipers Sports Club from Uganda has confirmed the death of their Nigerian forward, Abubakar Lawal. He tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Entebbe Road in Kampala on Monday while heading to training. The club expressed their profound sorrow over the unexpected and premature loss of their cherished player, Abubakar Lawal, who passed away this morning. His remains have been moved to a medical center for an autopsy. Details regarding the funeral arrangements will be provided in due time. The club expressed their condolences for Lawal’s family, fans, friends, and loved ones in a statement on their official website during this challenging time. Lawal joined Vipers SC in July 2022 from AS Kigali in Rwanda and was instrumental in their triumph in the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League. He has participated in eight league matches for the club this season. Prior to his international move, Lawal played in Nigeria’s Premier Football League for teams such as Kano Pillars FC, Wikki Tourists FC, and Nasarawa United. By Adeboye Amosu.
