NPFL: ‘Yaro Yaro’ Set to Take Over as Head Coach of Kano Pillars Amid Abdallah’s Potential Dismissal.

Ahmed Garba, also known as ‘Yaro Yaro’, who previously played for the Nigeria national team, is set to be appointed as the new Technical Adviser for Kano Pillars, according to Completesports. According to reports, the 2003 CAF Champions League champion Enyimba has been directing the technical team at Sai Masu Gida after Usman Abdallah, the Technical Adviser for the 2008 NPFL champions, was suspended. The 44-year-old has managed four matches for Kano Pillars, achieving two victories, one draw, and one loss, thus earning seven points out of a possible twelve. The club’s leadership has been impressed by his performance, leading them to think about prolonging Abdallah’s suspension. Additionally, it is reported that NPFL’s top scorer from Akwa United, Alaekwe, will be out for a month due to injury. As Abdallah’s suspension continues, Yaro Yaro will lead Kano Pillars during their matchday 26 home game against Akwa United, as well as their matchday 27 home match against Rangers. Winning both matches could determine Abdallah’s future and bolster the club management’s confidence in Yaro Yaro’s coaching abilities. The ex-midfielder for Club Africain in Tunisia and Akademisk Boldklub Gladsaxe in Denmark is viewed as a potential reliable long-term substitute. “I have served as the Assistant Coach for Kano Pillars for more than seven seasons,” Yaro Yaro mentioned in an interview with Completesports. When questioned about his preparedness for the top position, he stated, “I have gained experience under coaches such as Okey Emordi, Salisu Yusuf, Ladan Bosso, Babaganaru, and Usman Abdallah, along with other prominent coaches at Kano Pillars. Additionally, I have worked with two foreign coaches as well,” emphasizing that his background should not be disregarded. He also pointed out that Lobi Stars has recently named Babaganaru as their interim head coach. “The knowledge I’ve gained as an Assistant Coach over the years can’t be obtained from certificates,” he finished. The club administration is anticipated to issue a formal statement about Abdallah’s future following this weekend’s home game against Rangers. In the meantime, Kano Pillars’ Disciplinary Committee, led by Alhaji Muhammad Danjuma Gwarzo, has requested to extend Abdallah’s suspension, explaining that their inquiry into the reasons for his suspension is still ongoing. Sai Masu Gida currently holds the 7th position in the 2024/2025 NPFL standings with 36 points after playing 25 matches. From Sab Osuji
