Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei has found himself in a fix following a recent social media post about the incumbent NDC administration.
After he was lambasted by many Ghanaians for his distasteful comments, the actor quickly made a U-turn, claiming his remarks were meant as a joke.
In his initial post, Prince David Osei wrote:
> **H.E Prince David Osei (@PrinceDavidOsei)**
> *Ghana 🇬🇭 How Far? Are you enjoying the Mahama administration?? I hear they are giving everyone milk and honey… 24/7 electricity and market women making outrageous sales?? Everybody go be okay kraa 😉*
This post was interpreted as a sarcastic jab at the government, implying dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs.
Many social media users did not take kindly to his words, criticising him for unfairly attacking Mahama’s administration because his party lost the 2024 elections.
Following the backlash, the actor attempted to clarify his stance, posting another tweet in which he claimed he was only joking:
> **H.E Prince David Osei (@PrinceDavidOsei)**
> *Just cracking a joke, come on guys, everything shouldn’t be uptight.. I dey with you 🤣🤣🤣… Small humor I dey create then boys vex.. Before end of February dier dem go sack all our parents, uncles, aunties, sisters and brothers in the public sector … I just love Ghana 🇬🇭.. What happened to love your neighbor as thyself??*
Despite his attempt to downplay the situation, many Ghanaians are not convinced, with some accusing him of backtracking to avoid further criticism.
