Durban – Eleven people have died in a horror collision involving a truck and a minibus taxi along the M35 in Lotus Park, Isiphingo, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
KZN Transport and Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma said the deadly collision occurred this morning, Thursday, 29 January 2026.
“According to a preliminary report from our dedicated team from the Road Traffic Inspectorate, unfortunately, 11 people, including a learner, have died in this horrific accident,” MEC Duma said.
“Six other people were seriously injured and have been taken to the nearest hospital.
“I am currently making my way to the scene of a horrific accident involving a truck and a minibus taxi in Lotus Park, Isiphingo.”
