Security forces arrest over 200 suspected bandits in Kwara community 

Personnel of the Department of State Services, in collaboration with some foreign security agents and the Nigeria army, have arrested close to 300 suspected kidnappers in a community in Kwara state.

They were reportedly arrested at mechede, a Bororo/Fulani settlement close to Oro -Ago under Oro-Ago district, in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara state.

Operatives of the DSS, who preferred anonymity, claimed they have been on surveillance for about one to two months around the settlement.

DAILY POST recalls that the ongoing military operations in the Kwara South Senatorial District had neutralized many bandits in the area, while other fleeing bandits attempting to escape to Ekiti State, which shares common boundaries with Kwara state, are being arrested.

Sixteen of the suspected fleeing bandits were arrested recently by security operatives in Ekiti state while attempting to cross to the state.

They were arrested with over 100 rustled cattle in the bid to escape the ongoing military onslaughts in their former bases in Kwara state.
