Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu claims that the NPP would have received under 38% of the votes had elections taken place in August rather than December.

Honourable Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, a previous long-time Member of Parliament for the Ashanti Region of Ghana, has revealed that he was aware that the NPP would reduce the December 7 votes.
According to him, he reached his conclusions after learning about the lack of enthusiasm their battle was generating before the elections, which revealed to him that Ghanais were fed up with the NPP.
The former Minister of Parliamentary Affairs said the lack of joy was especially acute during the early stages of the plan during an interview with Nhyira FM in Kumasi.
He claimed that they were ready to pique more interest, which ultimately led to a slight improvement in their performance. If the primaries had taken place in August, the NPP may have lost by an even worse ratio than the renowned 38.2 % that are used to troll them, according to Mensah-Bonsu.
