Brigadier General Ahmad Mansur Dikko has officially taken over as the 18th Commander of 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, Ohafia following a formal handing/taking over ceremony held on Monday at the Brigade Headquarters.
The event, a routine tradition in the Nigerian Army, was attended by the Chief of staff, commanding officers, staff officers and Regimental Sergeant Major of the Brigade.
In his farewell remarks, the outgoing Commander, Brigadier General Hassan Muhammad Bello, expressed deep appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu for the opportunity to serve in that capacity.
He commended all officers and soldiers of the Brigade for their loyalty, dedication, and collective efforts, which he said were instrumental in the successes achieved during his tenure.
The outgoing Commander also emphasized the need for camaraderie that fosters team spirit and urged the Army personnel to extend the same cooperation and commitment to his successor.
Delivering his maiden address, the incoming Commander, Brigadier General Ahmad Mansur Dikko assured personnel of his determination and commitment to uphold professionalism and teamwork within the Command.
He pledged to sustain the unit’s cohesion and reaffirmed his commitment to positioning the Brigade towards achieving the Chief of Army Staff command philosophy.
“There is no organization that describes the philosophy of life as the Nigerian Army”, he said.
He stressed the need for officers to embrace timeliness as the key to project the unit, family, Nigerian Army as well as the Nation nation at large.
During the significant event, there was presentation of souvenir by the incoming Comander Brig.Gen. AM Dikko to the outgoing Comander Brig. Gen. H M Bello as a symbol of gratitude for a successful tour of duty among other events.
