
A former journalist, Bashir Aderemi Omotoso has joined the House of Representatives race in Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in Oyo State.
The veteran journalist revealed his ambition during an interview with DAILY POST on Tuesday.
Ido/ Ibarapa East federal constituency consists of both Ido local government area in Ibadan geopolitical zone and Ibarapa East local government area in Ibarapa geopolitical zone.
Omotoso, while speaking with DAILY POST, noted that he will contest the election on the platform of Accord in 2027.
The veteran journalist who retired as Deputy Director News at the Premier FM, an arm of Radio Nigeria, spoke on the rationale behind his ambition, saying his intention was borne out of his passion to attract development projects to the federal constituency.
He added that his experience as a pen pusher of decades has opened eyes to the needs of the people in the area.
The veteran journalist maintained that Accord remains a political party to beat in the forthcoming general elections.
He said the needs of the people in that area require only a vibrant, committed and right-thinking representative.
