Popular journalist, Pastor Olumide Akinrinlola has dismissed claims that Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is allegedly the most ‘useless governor in Nigeria’ amid the mass resignation of the governor’s aides.
DAILY POST reports that Aiyedatiwa’s senior special assistant on diaspora matters, Fola Olasehinde-Vicente, in a viral letter, tendered her resignation.
Earlier, two media aides to the governor, Olugbenga Abire and Taiwo Ilesanmi Gbamila, resigned.
Reacting to the resignation, Iretidola Akinrowo Ojekhoa on Facebook raised eyebrows over the alarming trend of resignations among aides to Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
However, the situation escalated when Ayodele Ezekiel Ozugbakun, a bureau chief at Television Continental in Abuja, responded to Ojekhoa’s post in the comments section.
His remark referred to Governor Aiyedatiwa as “the most useless governor in Nigeria.” The comment has since stirred controversy.
Reacting, Akinrinlola took to his verified Facebook and expressed his disapproval, stating, “Referring to our state governor in Ondo as ‘the most useless governor in Nigeria,’ this is highly unprofessional behavior for someone in such a prominent position in media.
“While I do criticize the governor and others to hold them accountable, I would never stoop to making unprofessional remarks like this. It is an insult to the office of Alagbaka and is entirely unacceptable. He should withdraw this statement and apologize immediately,” he wrote on Facebook.
