Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has issued a travel advisory to passengers following airspace restrictions in parts of the Middle East that have disrupted flight operations to and from the region.
In a statement released to journalists in Lagos on Saturday, FAAN said the developments had resulted in the cancellation and delay of several outbound flights from Nigerian airports to Middle Eastern destinations, including services operated by Emirates and Qatar Airways.
The authority advised affected passengers to contact their respective airlines directly for the latest information on flight schedules, rebooking arrangements and other necessary guidance.
FAAN noted that it is closely tracking the situation in coordination with relevant aviation regulators and airline operators, adding that further updates will be communicated as events unfold.
While apologising for the inconvenience caused, the authority thanked travellers for their patience and cooperation.
The advisory followed an earlier announcement by the General Civil Aviation Authority, which confirmed a temporary partial closure of the United Arab Emirates’ airspace.
Regional reports said the decision was taken as a precautionary security measure in response to prevailing challenges, with the aim of safeguarding aircraft operations, passengers and crew across the UAE.
