Nottingham Forest has pinpointed Osayi Samuel as a potential substitute for his fellow Super Eagles player, Ola Aina, whose contract is set to end after this season. Osayi Samuel, whose own contract also finishes at the same time, has turned down Fenerbahce’s most recent contract proposal, as reported by the Turkish media outlet takvim.com. Fenerbahce has engaged in contract negotiations with Osayi-Samuel on three occasions. He is also in touch with several English clubs, including Forest, which is reported to have made the most significant offer to Osayi-Samuel compared to the other clubs, aiming for him to take Aina’s place. Reports indicate that the former Queens Park Rangers right-back wishes to pursue his career in England. The 27-year-old has played 16 matches in the Turkish Super Lig this season with Jose Mourinho’s team. In the meantime, The Athletic states that Forest is making efforts to secure Aina with a new contract. He received a one-year extension last summer, and his performance has improved significantly during the 2024/25 season. Negotiations for a longer contract have been taking place for several months, as Aina has been a key player in Forest’s successful run this season. By James Agberebi.
