
Relatives of Ihotu John Rebecca, the Nigerian female footballer abducted along the Benin Expressway, have called on compassionate Nigerians to come to her aid as her captors insist on a N20 million ransom for her freedom.
The promising player, who features for Pacesetter Queens FC in the NWFL Premiership, was reportedly seized while making her way back home.
According to her family, Ihotu is a committed sportswoman devoted to advancing womenās football in Nigeria at the top domestic tier.
They stressed that her life is currently at risk and that swift action is necessary.
The family is, therefore, appealing to prominent figures within the football community, including club officials, sponsors, government representatives, sports authorities, and the general public, to rally support and help facilitate her safe return.
