The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command has beefed up security across the nation’s capital following plans by members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, also known as Shi’ites to stage protests in Abuja over the violence in Iran.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO of the command, SP Josephine Adeh confirmed this to DAILY POST on Wednesday morning.

She said the FCT Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye on Tuesday “lectured and deployed Mobile Police Officers to ensure public safety”, during the protest.

She added that the officers were also urged to maintain law and order, and protect the rights of all citizens.

DAILY POST reports that the Islamic Movement was earlier seen in Lagos, Kano, Niger, Sokoto, Gombe and Kaduna States condemning the joint military action by the United States and Israel in Iran.
