MAN urges Gov Oborevwori to tackle youth unemployment through industrialisation

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN, has called on Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, to prioritise industrialisation as a sustainable solution to rising unemployment in the state.

The association made this known in a statement on Wednesday, stressing that industrial growth remains a key driver of job creation and economic development.

According to the MAN, Delta State possesses vast natural and human resources that can be harnessed through the establishment of industries, particularly in manufacturing and agro processing sectors.

MAN pointed that “promoting local industries would not only create employment opportunities but also reduce dependence on imports and boost internally generated revenue”.

The group further urged the state government to provide a conducive business environment by improving infrastructure, ensuring steady power supply, and implementing policies that support investors.

It added that collaboration between the government and private sector players would be critical in positioning Delta State as an industrial hub in Nigeria.
