Taraba APC congresses boost party’s 2027 prospects — ALGON chairman

The Chairman of the Taraba State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Moses Maihankali, has expressed optimism about the readiness of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the 2027 general elections following the successful completion of the party’s internal congresses in the state.

Maihankali, who stated this during an interactive session with journalists in Jalingo on Wednesday, said the party had concluded its ward, local government and state congresses without major setbacks, describing the process as a significant step toward strengthening the party’s structure across Taraba State.

According to him, the smooth conduct of the congresses has placed the party in a strong position to begin preparations for the next electoral cycle.

He expressed confidence that the APC would record victories at all levels in the 2027 general elections, attributing the optimism to what he described as the continued support of the people of Taraba State for the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas.

Maihankali noted that residents of the state remain committed to the governor’s vision and development agenda, adding that the party would build on the existing support base as it prepares for future elections.

He also called on party members to remain united and focused, stressing that cohesion within the party would play a key role in achieving its electoral objectives.

The ALGON chairman commended governor Agbu Kefas and other party stakeholders for what he described as the orderly and peaceful conduct of the congresses.

He said the peaceful process that produced new party officials was commendable and wished them a successful tenure as they steer the affairs of the party toward greater progress and electoral victories.
