Iran: Emergency alert issued in Qatar amid explosions

Qatar’s authorities have issued an “elevated” emergency alert following reports of multiple explosions heard over the capital, Doha, amid rising regional tensions.

The country’s National Emergency Alert System notified residents that the security threat level has been raised, urging the public to remain indoors and stay away from windows as a precautionary measure.

The alert comes as Iran renewed missile attacks targeting Doha, according to Doha news.

Residents in parts of Doha reported hearing loud bangs and explosions, believed to be air defense systems intercepting incoming aerial threats.

Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MOI) via its x handle had earlier advised residents to shelter in place, avoid military installations, and limit movement to essential activities only until further notice.
