
The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and the Nigerian Army have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in addressing security challenges in the state.
The Brigade Commander of the 17 Brigade, Ishaya Ibrahim, stated this on Friday during a courtesy visit to the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Abbas Moriki, at the command headquarters in Katsina.
Ibrahim said the Nigerian Army and the NSCDC have maintained a longstanding working relationship, noting that continued collaboration among security agencies is important in tackling insecurity.
He added that the brigade under his leadership would sustain cooperation with the NSCDC to support ongoing security efforts in the state.
In his remarks, Moriki welcomed the brigade commander and reiterated the NSCDC’s readiness to work with the military and other security agencies to address security concerns.
In a related development, the NSCDC commandant also received the Director-General of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Joseph Ochogwu, the State Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Abdulrashid Sule, and the Acting Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Katsina Zonal Directorate, Chinedu Ozugha.
The officials emphasised the need for continued cooperation among security and law enforcement agencies in addressing security challenges in the state.
Moriki assured the visiting officials of the corps’ commitment to strengthening cooperation with their organisations to improve security and institutional coordination in Katsina.
