The victory marked an important turnaround for Viktoria Plzeň, ending a five-game winless run across all competitions.
Lawal, a member of the Super Eagles squad to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations scored the curtain raiser one minute before the break.
It was the 23-year-old’s second goal for
Plzeň following his arrival from Croatian outfit, NK Istra in January.
Martin Hyský’s side moved to third position on the standings with 45 points from 25 matches.
They will face Bohemians 1905 in their next league game.
