President Donald Trump has reiterated his assertion that Iran would have launched an attack on the United States ‘within a week’ prior to the US military action.
He made this statement while justifying the US-Israeli offensive against Tehran.
“I’ll give you the best reason of all. Within a week, they would’ve attacked us, 100%,” he stated to the press on Monday.
“They were prepared. They possessed a significant number of missiles, far exceeding expectations, and they intended to strike us.
“They were planning to attack the entire Middle East and Israel, and had they possessed a nuclear weapon, they would have deployed it against Israel, resulting in a substantial assault.”
Nevertheless, the President has not substantiated any of his claims regarding Iran’s readiness and intent to attack the US and its allies.
He asserted that the US-Israeli military intervention against Iran was ‘pre-emptive’ due to an imminent nuclear threat.
