The Directorate-General of National Police (DGPN) announced on Sunday a major operation to combat drug trafficking, which led to the seizure of 97.5 kilograms of Indian hemp and the arrest of five individuals. According to the DGPN, this intervention was carried out by agents of the Operational Division of the Central Office for the Suppression of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs (OCRTIS) over the weekend on the Dakar-Ziguinchor axis, a route often used by drug traffickers. In a communiqué published on the social network X, the DGPN welcomed this operation, underlining its constant commitment to the fight against drug trafficking and the securing of the territory. The arrest is part of a series of actions intensified by the police to dismantle criminal networks and limit the supply of illicit substances throughout the country.
