Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested 15 suspects over their alleged involvement in the illegal transportation of suspected radioactive solid minerals.
The arrest was carried out by officers from the commission’s Kaduna Zonal Directorate, according to a statement posted on the agency’s official X page.
The anti-graft agency said the suspects were intercepted on March 8, 2026, along the Suleja Maji Road while transporting the suspected minerals in three trucks.
Findings by the commission indicate that the materials were being conveyed to different locations across the country for purposes that have not yet been disclosed.
The EFCC said the suspects are currently in custody at its Kaduna Zonal Directorate, where further investigations are ongoing.
According to the commission, the suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
