
The United States Department of Stateās Rewards for Justice programme has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information on several Iranian officials it described as āterrorist leaders,ā including the newly elected supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.
In a notice released by the department on Friday, the U.S. government said āindividuals who provide credible information could also qualify for relocation assistance under the programme.ā
According to the statement, āthe Iranian officials are accused of commanding and directing different units of Iranās Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which Washington alleges is involved in planning, organizing and carrying out terrorist activities globally.ā
Among the Iranian figures the U.S. is seeking information about are:
Esmail Khatib, Iranās Minister of Intelligence and security
Ali Asghar Hejazi, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Supreme Leader
Major-General Yahya Rahim Safavi, a senior military adviser
Brigadier General Eskandar Momeni, Iran Minister of interior
Ali Larijani, Secretary to Iranās Supreme Council
Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran Supreme leader.
