Igbos’ contribution to APC’s victory in FCT election overwhelming – Party chieftains

All Progressives Congress chieftains, Ardo Zubariu and Chinsom Nwakanma, said the contribution of Igbos in the nation’s capital to the victory of the ruling party at the February 21 Federal Capital Territory Council election was overwhelming.

APC chieftains Zubariu and Nwakanma signed a statement jointly on Saturday.

According to them, it would have been impossible for APC to win five area council chairmanship elections without the massive support of the Igbo community in Abuja.

They lauded the leadership of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, for mobilizing residents to vote for APC.

“We sincerely appreciate the South-East residents in the FCT for standing with the Deputy Speaker and supporting APC candidates during the election. Their solidarity and participation played a vital role in the successes recorded by the party,” Zubariu and Nwakanma, who double as leaders of the APC Integrity Group, stated.

DAILY POST reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission declared APC candidates as winners of AMAC, Bwari, Kuje, Kwali, and Abaji chairmanship seats, while the All Progressives Grand Alliance won Gwagwalada.
