EPL: Chelsea hit with £10.75m fine, transfer ban

Chelsea have been fined £10.75 million by the Premier League and given a one-window transfer ban, suspended for two years, over historical breaches of regulations under the ownership of Roman Abramovich.

This was disclosed in a lengthy statement released by the Premier League via its website on Monday.

It comes after the Blues voluntarily self-reported their potential rule breaches.

The Premier League west London club was subsequently charged by the Football Association last September.

An independent commission found Chelsea had breached rules relating to financial reporting, third-party investment and youth development.

Meanwhile, Boehly’s BlueCo consortium bought Chelsea from Abramovich in 2022.
