​Council of Ministers: These are the 4 key decisions taken by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye 

  The Council of Ministers met on 12 March under the presidency of Mr Bassirou Diomaye Faye. On that occasion, the Head of State made several important recommendations and decisions. He first presented the condolences of the State following the death of Abdou Diouf, inspecteur du Trésor, before addressing several key subjects. After welcoming the good progress of the National Women’s Week and congratulating Maïmouna Dièye, Minister of Family and Solidarity, the President announced the creation of the Gaïndé de la performance medal. This distinction aims to reward Senegalese who have made an exceptional contribution to the development and influence of the country in various fields such as health, education, culture, technology, economy and environment. “It will be awarded on a normal or exceptional basis according to its merits”, said the Head of State. Reaffirming his commitment to transparent governance of natural resources, the President urged the ministers concerned to strengthen the actions of the Initiative for Transparency in the Extractive Industries. It stressed the need to publish regularly the economic data relating to audits and the registers of beneficial owners.
