Johannesburg – Morocco has won its appeal and has been announced as the AFCON winners, with the final result overturned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The CAF appeal board announced the decision late on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
During the tense final, Senegal players walked off the field protesting a Morocco penalty.
CAF ruled in the appeal that Senegal breached Article 84.
AFCON rules state that if a team refuses to play or leaves the field, they will be eliminated.
