The Government has decided to deal with the property irregularities found on the site reserved for the construction of the Tribunal de Guédiawaye. Several contracts awarded fraudulently have been cancelled, and an in-depth investigation has been entrusted to the Division des Investigations Criminelles (DIC) to shed light on the matter. Despite this clearly defined destination, parts of the site have been ceded to third parties in all irregularity, in flagrant violation of State directives. Faced with these alarming revelations, the State reacted without delay. The DIC has received a mandate to open a rigorous investigation in order to trace the exact circumstances of these illegal attributions. The objective is to place the responsibility and bring to justice all the actors involved in this opaque management of public property. Conscious of the systemic risks, the Government envisages extending its controls to other areas of public infrastructure. This initiative aims at preventing new abuses and guaranteeing a more transparent and rigorous management of the national land heritage.
