NSCDC deploys 2,375 personnel for Eid-el-Fitr in NigerĀ 

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, has deployed 2,375 personnel across the state to ensure security during the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

State Commandant, Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, approved the deployment, which will cover the command headquarters, area commands and divisional offices.

According to a statement issued through the Public Relations Officer, Abubakar M.R Muti, the personnel will be stationed at strategic locations to maintain order and provide adequate security before, during and after the celebration.

The command said Eid-el-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting, and requires heightened security due to increased public activities.

Aniviye stated that the corps had put in place comprehensive measures to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah celebration, stressing its mandate to protect lives and critical national assets.

The deployment commenced on March 18, 2026, with officers expected to carry out patrols and crowd management operations across the state.

The commandant also commended the Commandant General of the corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for strengthening the operational capacity of the agency.

He further acknowledged the support of Umaru Mohammed Bago in enhancing security and development in the state.

The statement then urged residents to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities to the nearest NSCDC office in the state.
