Uphold justice, fairness in your communities – Otti urges South-East, South-South monarchs

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has called for justice, fairness and collaboration among leaders across the Southeast and South-South to achieve sustainable development.

The Governor made the call at the Southeast traditional rulers council in Umuahia.

He charged the monarchs to always uphold justice and fairness in their communities.

Governor Otti stressed the importance of working together across political and traditional divides, noting that progress is best achieved through unity.

He advised the traditional rulers to ensure that appointments and other important roles in their communities were only given to people who merit the appointments.

Governor Otti dismissed the claims of discord within the Southeast Governors’ Forum, explaining that differences in priorities are often shaped by varying local realities.

“Sometimes, people create in their imagination differences that don’t exist.

“We all work together, but what one State requires may differ from another. Comparing Governors is like comparing apples and oranges,” Otti stated.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Abia State Council of traditional rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah, thanked Otti for his achievements in the State, including security, infrastructure and welfare of the traditional rulers.

Eze Nto, however, expressed concern over the erosion of cultural values and increasing communal conflicts in communities.
