Iran swears revenge after Trump ultimatum over Hormuz Strait

The primary military command in Iran has vowed to engage in a tit-for-tat if the United States hits the Islamic Republic’s critical assets as threatened by President Donald Trump.

The President issued a deadline on Saturday via Truth Social, warning Iran to—without threat—fully open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.

Trump stated that if the request is not heeded, the U.S. “will hit and obliterate their various power plants, starting with the biggest one first.”

Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari said if Iran is attacked, “all energy infrastructure, IT systems, and desalination facilities belonging to the U.S. and the regime in the region will be targeted.”

On Saturday, scores of civilians were injured, some severely, after Iranian missiles breached Israeli defenses and struck the southern cities of Dimona and Arad.

The attack, which caused massive destruction, targeted two locations just a few kilometers away from Israel’s nuclear installation located in the Negev desert.

It occurred hours after Tehran said the U.S. and Israel bombarded an uranium enrichment complex in Natanz, a facility key to Iran’s nuclear program.

Top lawmaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Israel’s failure to intercept the missiles in the highly protected Dimona area will operationally signal the entry into a new phase of the battle.

“Israel’s skies are defenseless,” the Parliament Speaker wrote on X. “It seems the time has come to implement the next pre-planned plans.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the devastating Saturday attacks “a very difficult evening in the campaign for our future.”

Netanyahu said he had directed his office and government ministries to assist the victims, adding that Israel remains “determined to continue to strike our enemies on all fronts.”
