Olowookere stated that Morocco 2025 will not underestimate South Africa when it comes to flamingos.

On Friday, head coach Bankole Olowookere stated that Nigeria’s U17 girls, the Flamingos, will ensure there are no opportunities for a sudden upset as they face the South African team in a FIFA U-23 World Cup qualifying match in Ikenne-Remo on Saturday. “We fully understand that the game isn’t decided until the final whistle,” he remarked. To think differently would be unwise. Indeed, we secured a 3-1 victory away in South Africa, but the match is far from over. That’s our way of thinking. Since we came back from Pretoria, that has been central to our preparations. My team and I have concentrated on enhancing the girls’ mental resilience, repeatedly emphasizing the importance of focus. Concentration must not be lost. Our goal is to secure a victory on Saturday and guarantee our spot in the final qualifying round. Shakirat Moshood scored a goal and Harmony Chidi added two more, leading Nigeria to a 3-1 victory in Pretoria last weekend, putting the team in a favorable position for the upcoming return leg. Additionally, NPFL updates include Desouza and Ikhenoba winning February Awards.
