Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta revealed that he sees himself as a father figure to Ethan Nwaneri within the club. Although Nwaneri did not receive an invitation to join the England youth team, Arteta expressed to the club’s website that participating in the development of players for the Three Lions is still a significant and proud achievement. He stated, “We all feel that way because we are part of their growth and understand that representing one of the most prestigious teams is a major milestone for any footballer, so being involved in that is truly rewarding.” Check out: 2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Ejuke Supports Super Eagles to Defeat Rwanda and Zimbabwe. He shared that overseeing Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly gives him a sense of being a father figure, as he aims to guide them properly. “They’re nearly the same age as my eldest son, so I definitely see some resemblances. Both come from supportive families and are taking charge of their own education. Although we carry significant responsibilities and various related issues, they are well cared for.” Our role is to assist and provide guidance in various areas, and they should feel free to approach us whenever they need to have a discussion.
