
Armed bandits have expressed anger over alleged detention of members of their group in Kaduna and Kano States as well as the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja.
A viral video captured the moment a yet-to-be identified bandit leader surrounded by other bloodthirsty militants expressed dissatisfaction with the Nigerian leaders for holding their members.
The criminal elements also indicted the government, alleging that there was an agreement between them but the latter reneged.
According to the bandit leader, officials of the government approached them and they both struck a deal.
In the video, which was posted on X by popular security expert Makama Zagazola on Monday, the bandits called on the government to immediately release their members being held.
He said that their fighters, including women, are being detained across the nation, stating that when they demand their release, the authorities look away.
DAILY POST reports that there were reports of government officials allegedly meeting with the bad elements in forests to strike deals.
However, authorities have vehemently denied reports linking both state and federal government to payment of ransom after abductions.
